Special Summer Issue, 1999
MESSAGE FROM NJIDEKA:
Greetings Friends and Supporters,
I have some exciting news to share with you. "Reflexology and Yours Truly" are going global. Njideka N. Olatunde, Ph.D. has been personally invited to be the Reflexology Representative for the United States, to travel with a delegation of specialists in the field of Adult Wellness, to the People's Republic of china for a bilateral exchange in November of 1999.

The invited delegates will explore the most current research, education, training and medical treatments for aging healthily. The delegation will have a special emphasis on traditional Chinese medicine, including Reflexology, acupuncture, Tai Chi and herbal medicine. A meeting has also been arranged for "Njideka" to visit with the leaders of the Reflexology Association of China and the Reflexology Society of China.

I am elated to have been asked to travel with the People to People Ambassador Program by Delegate Major General (retired) Bernard Loeffkle, Ph.D., who is a former Advisor to the President's Council on Physical Fitness, and the programs Honorary Chairman, President Bill Clinton.

I need your financial support to make this trip a reality. Your financial support will make it possible for me "Njideka" to represent the Reflexologist of the United States and Focus on Healing's Health Educator to accompany me on this historical event. We have a strict budget of $9055, which will cover all meetings and professional activities, transportation, accommodations, cultural activities, and meals.

Your financial support entitles you to a documented report on information shared with Chinese health care professionals from the meetings, site visits, and round table discussions. When I "Njideka", return, I will host a workshop to share pictures and discussions about Chinese Reflexology, traditional Chinese medicine and its integration with conventional medicine.

An added highlight will be to share with Chinese practitioners our Youth Reflexology Training Program and the development of an education and cultural exchange program in Reflexology for youth here in the metro area.

Your contributions to this project is tax deductible. Focus on Healing, Inc. is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. Make your checks payable to Focus on Healing, P.O. Box 26132, Washington, D.C. 20001. For more information, call 301.779.8005 Press # 3.

Sincerely,
Njideka N. Olatunde, Ph.D.
